Therapy Tree is pleased to provide the Handwriting Without Tears™ Handwriting camp in
groups or as part of our Occupational Therapy individual sessions.

This exciting  after school and summer program will emphasize fine motor development,
correct grip, and letter formation skills. Children will participate in games, crafts, and multi-
sensory writing activities that make writing engaging and entertaining! The HWT handwriting
program is very effective because it uses  a multi-sensory approach to writing that is
suitable for children with a variety of learning styles - visual, auditory, tactile, and
kinesthetic.  The program uses unique materials that appeal to kids who need help with letter
formation, reversal, legibility, spacing and cursive connections.

Our Handwriting Camp will be directed by a HWT Level 1 Certified Handwriting Specialists.
Groups and individual sessions are run by our occupational therapy staff and typically include
2-5 students. Children are placed in our groups as determined by age and writing level. Groups
are available for children with special needs as well as typical children.

Group Versus Individual?
Private occupational therapy evaluation and intervention is available for children and
teenagers.  Private sessions are ideal for some students for a variety of reasons.  I often
recommend private instruction for people who:
  • Have specific occupational therapy (i.e. sensory processing) needs
  • Benefit from reduced distraction
  • Prefer private session to the small group
The private sessions are usually 30 min, 45 min
Sessions are usually scheduled weekly.
Sessions are scheduled according to availability.
Saturday sessions are available.

Group session will include 2-5 students. The students will enjoy periods of individualized
handwriting instruction followed by fun group activity breaks designed to support growth in
their foundation skills.
